A Day in the Ring allowed local special-needs students to pair up with youth group exhibitors to show goats, lambs and swine. This event was hugely successful with a total of 53 participants and 159 volunteers. Each Special-Needs participant was presented with a blue ribbon for their hard work at A Day in the Ring.

The Annual Ellis County Youth County Expo continues to grow year after year as more exhibitors are registering for the show competitions; Ark Country Store is very proud to see our customers excel in each show division. Congratulations to all of the youth exhibitors— Ark Country Store is proud of you, your hard work and dedication!

Several of Ark’s show customers weighed in on what they love most about showing livestock, the Ellis County Youth Expo and Ark Country Store:

Carson Almand- Midlothian FFA

“Showing is a good experience with animals, it teaches you responsibility, and I get to meet a lot of new people every year, especially when I show a new breed of animal.”

Kyle Almand- Midlothian FFA

“I like the fact that you get to spend time with everyone in the county. You’re not just stuck with everyone in Midlothian. I’ve been feeding SureFed intimidator throughout my years of showing, and it’s helped me to succeed!”

Karlee Kuykendall- Midlothian FFA

“My favorite thing about showing is the excitement and adrenaline rush that it gives me every time I step into the ring. I enjoyed feeding Jacoby red tag because it helped my goat to excel in the show ring!”

Makayla Burton- Waxahachie FFA

“My favorite thing about showing is meeting new people and just the adrenaline rush of being in the ring. It’s just a great feeling, and I’ve made lifelong friends. My favorite thing about feeding Purina products is that it’s an easy feed because it fills them up and makes them look nice, so you don’t have to do a whole lot of extra work. When I go into Ark Country Store, the workers are so friendly and always have a smile on their face!”

Ty Turner- Maypearl FFA

“My favorite thing about showing market rabbits is getting to take care of them, learning responsibility and spending time with my family.”

Megan Brown- Midlothian FFA

“My favorite thing about showing is all the friendships you make along the way. I like competing against other people. Whether I win or lose, I always have a good attitude and never give up.”

Maci Keating- Midlothian FFA

“My favorite thing about showing would probably be getting new families to join our Ag Chapter and helping the kids learn how to show. I love feeding Purina feed because I know that it is made out of great quality products. When I go into Ark Country Store, I enjoy how kind and helpful the employees are!”
