Purina Animal Nutrition vs. Nestle Purina
There have been many questions regarding the news about Purina brand dog food Beneful. Ark Country Store offers feeds manufactured and owned by Purina Animal Nutrition, whose parent company is Land O’Lakes (LOL). Purina Animal Nutrition (PMI) pet foods include Infinia, Exclusive, and Red Flannel. These pet foods are manufactured under the umbrella of PMI Nutrition, and you will NOT find a checkerboard on these brand of products. PMI Nutrition products are NOT manufactured in the same location/plants as Nestle Purina products. PMI products are not nationally advertised, they are only available at Purina Retailers, and offer outstanding nutrition. Ark Country Store offers a frequent buyer program on these pet foods. There are grain-free options too!
Nestle Purina manufactures Beneful, Dog Chow, Cat Chow, and Pro Plan pet foods, which you can find in national grocery stores and pet stores. Nestle Purina DOES use the checkerboard on their pet products. Years ago, Purina was one company, owned by Ralston. The company split many years ago and Land O’Lakes is the parent company to Purina Mills (now Purina Animal Nutrition) and Nestle ended up with the Purina pet side. Nestle owns the rights to the checkerboard for the pet products- and if you look closely, there are some differences in the logo- the black background and font are two of the easiest changes to recognize.
Ark Country Store represents the products of Land O’Lakes, not Nestle. We do NOT offer any Purina Nestle products in our store. If you currently feed your dog Beneful please consider PMI nutrition options like Infinia (Holistic pet foods), Exclusive or Red Flannel.
It is important to note that the FDA has not recalled Nestle Purina Beneful. You can read Nestle’s statement here. https://www.beneful.com/frequently-asked-questions
